A Simple Way to Pray
A four-part rhythm you can use anywhere, in five minutes or fifty.
5 min read
Key verse
“Lord, teach us to pray.”
Luke 11:1
01
Start with thanks
Begin by naming three things you are grateful for. Gratitude reorients the heart before you ask for anything.
02
Be honest
Tell God what is actually going on — the worry, the anger, the hope. The Psalms show us that God prefers honesty to polish.
03
Ask
Bring your requests, for yourself and for others. Be specific. Jesus told us to ask.
04
Listen
End with a minute of silence. You may not hear anything. That is fine. You are learning to make room.
Take it with you
Spend a quiet minute with this.
