God introduces Himself
When Moses asks to see God's glory, God does not show him power. He passes by and declares His name: merciful, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. This is the most-quoted description of God in the Old Testament — the Bible's own summary of His character.

Why this matters for you
What you believe about God's character shapes everything: how you pray, how you handle failure, whether you come close or keep your distance. If God is mostly angry, you will hide. If He is as He says — merciful and gracious — you will come home.
