Learning to Trust God
Trust is not a feeling you wait for. It is a muscle you build, one decision at a time.

Key verse
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
01
Trust is a decision before it is a feeling
Many of us wait to trust God until we feel confident. But Proverbs does not command a feeling; it commands a posture. To trust with all your heart is to decide, in advance, that God's character is more reliable than your read of the situation.
This is why trust grows through practice. Every time you choose God's way when your own understanding is pulling elsewhere, the muscle strengthens.

What 'leaning' looks like
The image is physical. To lean on something is to put your weight on it. Solomon says: do not put your full weight on your own understanding. It is a good tool and a poor foundation.
Practically, this means bringing decisions to God before you make them, staying in Scripture so you know His ways, and letting wise people speak into your life.

A simple practice
This week, when you notice anxiety about a decision, pause and say: 'God, I trust You more than I trust my own understanding of this.' Then take the next faithful step. Trust is built in exactly these small moments.
