The Quiet Place

Jesus withdrew to lonely places to pray. He is inviting you to do the same.

Today's verse

And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

Luke 5:16

In the middle of the busiest season of His ministry — crowds pressing, people needing healing, disciples asking questions — Luke tells us that Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Not once. Often.

If the Son of God needed quiet to stay close to the Father, we should not be surprised that we do too. Prayer is not a performance for God; it is a return to Him. It is where the noise settles and we remember who we are.

You do not need an hour. You do not need the right words. You need a place, a few minutes, and the willingness to be honest. Start there.

Reflect

  • 1

When was the last time you were truly quiet with God?

  • 2

Where could your 'lonely place' be this week?

A prayer

Jesus, teach me to withdraw the way You did. Quiet my heart. I want to hear You. Amen.
