When You Feel Lost
“Even when the path ahead isn't clear, you are never walking alone.”

Today's verse
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105
There are seasons when the road ahead disappears into fog. You know you are supposed to keep moving, but you cannot see far enough to trust your next step. Maybe a decision is weighing on you. Maybe a door closed that you were sure God had opened. Maybe you simply feel far from Him and cannot remember how you got here.
The psalmist describes God's word as a lamp for his feet — not a floodlight for the whole valley. A lamp shows you the next step, and only the next step. That is not a limitation of God's guidance; it is the shape of it. He gives light for today, and He is faithful to give it again tomorrow.
Feeling lost does not mean you are lost. It usually means you are somewhere new, and the God who led you here has not left. Jesus called Himself the Good Shepherd, and shepherds do not lose sheep in the dark. They go looking.
So take the next small step. Open the Bible. Say one honest prayer. Reach out to one person. You do not need to see the whole path. You only need to trust the One who does.
Reflect
- 1
Where in your life right now do you wish you had more clarity?
- 2
What is one small, faithful step you could take today?
A prayer
Father, I don't always know where I'm going. But I know You do. Be the light for my next step, and give me the courage to take it. Amen.
